Show Me Your Glory

Greetings IAFB Family,

Greetings in the powerful name of the Lord Jesus Christ! The annual convention is upon us, and I anticipate another powerful move of the Holy Spirit. These supernatural encounters of His presence should not be unfamiliar but eagerly welcomed and practiced. Our organization has a rich history of experiencing the move of the Holy Spirit; in our Sunday services, bible studies, department events, and especially at our assembly convention. We will always be a people that continually expect God’s presence in everything we do.

We look at Moses’ encounter with God for our convention theme. God had already shown Moses many signs of his power, but Moses still wanted a fuller revelation of who God is. His request was personal, relational, and pastoral: Moses needed confidence that God would go with them and not leave them.

Moses said, “Show me your glory” because he wanted more than God’s guidance; he wanted a deeper assurance of God’s presence as they moved toward the Promised Land. Exodus 33:14-19, Moses was saying, “I know you, but I want to know you more.” The scene shows both God’s holiness and his willingness to reveal Himself graciously to those He calls.

I am blessed and grateful as the good Lord allows me to serve Him and our beloved assembly. To God be the glory for all the things He has done and continues to do in our lives! I hope and pray that you will pursue and draw even closer to God during your time at this convention. May God bless you.
