Brethren,
Greetings in His matchless name and Happy New Year!
The eve of the new year will bring inspiring sermons from our beloved pastors through-out the Firstborn that will compel us to reflect on the past and focus on the future. There is always great excitement with the turning of the year, maybe it’s because there’s an anticipation of new things to come. “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Prov. 29:18 KJV. I am amazed at the like-mindedness we share when it comes to new vision for we all agree with the proverb and our need for “vision”. Unfortunately, it’s only the vision part that we accept and acknowledge as significant. Let’s be reminded that there are other aspects of vision; there are new methods, new strategies and new techniques for proclaiming God’s message.
“Vision encompasses vast vistas outside the realm of the predictable, the safe, the expected”. – Charles R. Swindoll.
We experience this cultural shift every time we upgrade our electronic devices; what we communicate is the same but the method has been upgraded. I challenge you in the new year to step out of your predictable way of doing ministry and allow the Holy Spirit to truly change your methodology. The gospel must be preached afresh and told in new ways to every generation since each generation has its own unique questions and needs.
May the good Lord bless you in the new year and His favor fall afresh on you.
Gratefully in His service,
Reverend Ben Refuerzo
FAFB/IAFB General Superintendent
