Report to IAFB Executive Board
Presbyter Willie Neypes, So. District
On Sunday Feb 8, 2015 I attended worship service at Calvary Lighthouse Mission in Escondido. This temporary facility is about 1300 Sq feet and adequate for their congregation of about 60 – 70 regulars. I was introduced by Pastor Floyd/Arliss to the church and shared the purpose of my visit. I also spoke briefly and played a trumpet spiritual.
Currently, Pastor Floyd appears to be in better health recovering from his surgery and has resumed preaching. Asking him about his health (at 79) He says, “there are days I struggle being short of breath”. He attests his condition on years of moving earth. (continue to pray for him). I also met with his assistant, Pastor Mario Soto and other church members as well. All seemed united in their quest to rebuild their church again.
In support, other local churches have donated furniture and made pledges. Pastor Mario advised his desire to also have IAFB officers connect with them, and San Diego as well. Pastor Floyd said re-building plans are in place. However, moving slowly. He advised they are soon to demolish and clear the lot for rebuild. I offered my resources for the time they need work to be done.
Recommendation: Support (call or E-mail) Pastor Floyd & Arliss Freeman/Mario Soto with encouragement and support.
