This month ushers in a spirit of Thanksgiving for our entire nation and for those of us who belong to the family of God, it brings a time of reflection; “why are you thankful”? Most of us have loved ones, daily provisions and much to be grateful for. Unfortunately, there are many who have a tendency to succumb to a feeling of ungratefulness. The Sunday messages will prep our minds in recognizing all the things we ought to be thankful for, yet the biggest downer is the day after Thanksgiving; when the Christmas shopping frenzy begins and how quickly we forget as we stop thinking about what we have and start thinking about what we want. We will peruse Christmas catalogs, view the online stores and make shopping lists for all the great stuff we want to get when we should spend more time appreciating the great stuff we already have.
The psalmist writes,
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits—.
This season let’s remember all the wonderful benefits our precious Lord has richly blessed us with and learn to praise Him with thankful hearts! May our precious Lord bless you.
Gratefully in His service,
Rev. Ben Refuerzo
FAFB/IAFB General Superintendent
