It’s an interesting thought how we in the Body of Christ relish the end of the year holiday festivities, and why shouldn’t we? It’s Christmastime! A time we recognize Immanuel and worship the newborn King, but this advent holiday contrasts with the holiday at springtime which has a tendency to sneak up on us each year and misses the same kind of enthusiasm it so richly deserves. The gospel of Luke tells us the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost. As the Passion week draws near, let us remember the great cost that was paid on our behalf. ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ Luke 24:7
I encourage you to participate in all the Passion week activities and truly celebrate during your services. We do not attend just any Sunday service for Resurrection Sunday is the pinnacle of all worship services in Christendom.
All believers wait with great anticipation as their pastor reads through the scriptures and exhorts the words that uplifts the spirit of all brethren, “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” May we the Church with a resounding declaration that our God is the One True God, our Risen Lord and Savior usher in a jubilant time of passionate worship! Let us rejoice and celebrate because He lives!
Gratefully in His service,
Rev. Ben Refuerzo
FAFB/IAFB General Superintendent
